This roof needed a new layer of shingles. Once the old roofing came off, we could see the condition of the wood underneath and repair the weak areas before installing the new roof. We did the job in the right order — remove the old roof, inspect the deck, replace damaged wood, install the underlayment, and then put on the new shingles. The finished roof looks clean because the work underneath was handled first.

Tear-off and repair

We removed the old shingles and underlayment down to the wood deck. Once the roof was open, we found deteriorated wood near the chimney and roof edges. The bad sections were removed and the roof was rebuilt with sound decking before anything new was covered up. A new roof is only as good as the deck below it — the important work is often the part the homeowner never sees again.

New roofing

After the deck was repaired and protected, we installed the new asphalt shingles from the lower edge upward, working around the pipes, vents and roof connections as the shingle courses moved across the roof. The completed surface is clean and uniform, with the roof vents and penetrations integrated into the new roofing.
